He has read all the Rick Riordan, Harry Potter, Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, and those series intended for slightly younger audience. He's looking for something new, and I want to get him a series for Christmas. Any ideas? I'd like to stay away from Hunger Games, Divergent stuff if possible.
Thanks for any suggestions! |

| Alcatraz vs the evil librarians-- by Brandon Sanderson. I think there are 4 in the series. Buy as individual books, not the giant 4-in-1 volume. Very funny. Look up reviews on Amazon. Best ever series. Both my kids read, loved, re-read, etc. |

How about the classics? Tom Sawyer Treasure Island Swiss Family Robinson The Lost Prince All the Jules Vernes, particularly Around the World in 80 Days and 60,000 Leagues under the Sea. The Hobbit, and then LOTR when he's ready. I suppose he's read the Chronicles of Narnia and the Chronicles of Prydain, if not he might enjoy them. |
| My DS is a little younger (9) but has enjoyed most of the books already listed. He's also really liked books by Jonathan Auxier - Peter Nimble and his Fantastic Eyes & The Night Gardiner. |
| My daughter, same age, read Jurassic Park and is now a huge Michael Crichton fan. Maybe those? |
