We are traveling 6 hours for Thanksgiving, so have been left off the hook for bringing food, but I said I'd bring something to contribute to the breakfast supplies. I would need to cook Wednesday night for eating on Friday morning - would scones still be good then? Other ideas - some apple or cranberry quick bread, granola. Ideas?
Muffins
The pumpkin bread that was in yesterday's post food section. That's what I'm making. Also baked oatmeal, which can be done in advance and reheated in the microwave. Just saw a recipe on epicurious for that.
If you have access to an oven there, overnight French toast?
Coffee cake
Can you just go out the next morning and get fruit and yogurt? Light after Thanksgiving, right?
As long as you store them in an airtight container, scones should be fine.
Cinnamon rolls
Mix it with the granola for breakfast parfaits. Yum. |
Ripe fruit and muffins.
Monkey bread, scones (one of my favorites is a savory scone with cracked pepper, cheddar, bacon and shredded cheddar, and a buttermilk scone base....yum), coffee cake, all should be fine the next morning.
Thanks all!
make a couple of quiches at home- then freeze them. Put them in a cooler, hit the road and then put them in the refrigerator when you arrive. Pop them in the oven and breakfast is ready. Bring some croissants and a bag of clementines to serve along with the quiche.

Quiche reheats well
Love the yogurt/granola/fruit idea Hashbrown casserole or egg casseroles can be made in advance too |
