Perils of DC going to college near home

Anonymous
Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how you have handled it. DC goes to a local 4 year college and visits most weekends, sometimes sleeps over, sometimes not. DC is a great student, lives in an apartment and has friends, but the school doesn't have a huge social atmosphere. Now DC has started to stop in for dinner during the week and has asked to sleep at home during the week. DC claims everything is fine with roommates, etc. It is starting to bother me and I'm not sure why. On the one hand, this is their home and they are welcome here, but on the other hand, I feel like I need to set some boundaries or it will get out of hand!
Has anyone else been down this road and have advice to offer?
Thanks in advance!

Hmm. Maybe say, I love having you here and you are welcome anytime. However, I worry you are missing out on the college experience by coming home so often.

Or....how about trying to get her to study abroad for a semester, or do a summer internship in a city across the country?

These are great ideas, thanks!

I understand your concerns but have no suggestions.
Is she a introvert and needs some quiet time to recharge?

Maybe our kids can get together. I have the exact same issues.
