| We've been going to the ECE classes at Levine and DS doesn't seem to be enjoying himself. We've gone to music classes at a different school when he was a baby and he really seemed to enjoy them. I would be interested to hear about the experiences of anyone who has tried classes at Levine. |

I didn't really find the classes for under twos at Levine to be that fun for my child. He always ended up with a group of kids who were older or younger, even within the designated ranges for each class, and the exercises didn't end up being very appropriate for him.
The 3+ classes on the other hand, have been great. They've been very well taught. |
I would recommend classes at Bach to Rock, especially Rock City.

| We've been in different kinds of EC music classes (Music Together, B2R, Kindermusik). It's hugely dependent on the instructor. Perhaps, you can try a different instructor at Levine? |
| My daughter really liked Gabriela Cohen's classes at ECEM Levine. She was 2 and 3 at the time. |

If you're looking for a more unique approach...give Meadowlark Music a try (I think her official site is www.meadowlarkmusiclessons.com). The classes are mostly for ages 0-3 years, though there is the Friday Singalong which definitely has some older kids, up to 4 or 5 years it seems. Amber's a music educator (like she went to college for that specifically) and was a music teacher before having a kid of her own. She even taught music at a preschool when I first met her a few years ago. Personally, I like the classes and bring my own toddler because she's a songwriter and performer and so she makes it interesting. Also, the classes are a little different each week. We tried all the music classes out locally before I just kept bugging her to start her own classes. I'm really glad I did.
Plug for a friend and dynamic music teacher... Also I should add she makes her own CDs. My kid LOVES them! It's seriously ridiculous that she will be crying then I put on that CD and she stops! I'm a huge fan!!! |
| Also looking for personal info on experience for a 3 year old. We've done Music Together and loved it but want to try something new with older kiddos. Teachers listed for the 2-3 class are Lisa Pantano and Youlee Park. Anyone had either of them? |
| OP, we had the same experience with Levine. DS absolutely hated them, didn't want to go, would start crying before we even opened the door. Yet he absolutely adored classes at Wolf Trap. He's now in K and still remembers how much fun he had there. |
