OOB oyster pre-k

Does anyone ever get into Oyster pre-k OOB?

This has been previously discussed and the consensus seems to be that no-one gets into Oyster OOB - not even #1 on the waitlist.

First year of a new lottery system though. Oyster did their own lottery previously - now all schools have a centralized lottery system run by DCPS. We will all see what the outcome will be and see whether different results are yielded.

The same process is being used, though. It's a weighted lottery. A non Spanish dominant kid is not getting into Oyster OOB.

Seriously - if you want to go there, then move. There are apartments, condos, row houses and single homes available.

i plan to move for kindergarten. i can't move now because of the small chance of getting into pre-k even in-boundary--it will put me too far away from dd's current school. also, the rents there are more than i pay now and i am going to have to figure something out, financially.
