I got a Bjorn second hand and use it occasionally for my 17/18 lb baby. After 15/20 minutes, it does start to put strain on my upper back, though. I've heard the Ergo is better re: back pain, and I wanted to see if folks had comments on this and if the Ergo is worth the investment.
definitely better for my back. we passed along our b'jorn bc hurt back too much. ergo definitely better since puts more of weight on hips. But still not ideal if you have bad backs as my husband and i do
Much better, and you can use if for much longer. I used it until my DD was two and a half.
I never tried a Bjorn, but still use my Ergo with my 14-month old...
I had the Bjorn and the Beco Butterfly (same concept as Ergo), and yes the Beco was MUCH better. DH liked the Bjorn when DS was little because it was super easy to put him in it. We didn't use the Bjorn after 8 months though (I quit the Bjorn long before that). We can still use the Beco and DS is 14 mo.
YES! Bjorn hurt my back after a short time, even when she was small. I can still carry her in the Ergo at 18 months w/o problem! My husband preferred the Bjorn for some reason - maybe easier to put on??? But I'll take the Ergo any day of the week.
