We Need Life Insurance. Any Recs?

Anonymous
Spouse was just RIF'd and unfortunately our life insurance was tied to the former company. Continuing to pay for it this way doesn't make any sense. We were lazy and took the easy way out by never doing any research of our own.

Anybody have any recommendations for companies to call, amounts to have (we have a 6 year old and 4 year old here in DC), etc.

Any general advice?

thanks.

We've had term life insurance with Genworth Life for over 10 years. It was one of the few companies that would give my husband (AF Flight Crew) a policy without costing an arm and a leg. Try them. https://www.genworth.com

I used Accuquote. Good service, easy to deal with, competitive rates. But definitely shop around - get quotes from at least two brokers, preferably three.

I used Accuquote also and thought it was the best of the "compare and receive instant quotes" websites that I've seen.

Call Lenny Kopp - he's an excellent insurance agent who can help you find the best policy for your specific situation.

I got his name from DCUM last year and he was GREAT. Got much better quotes than when I did it myself.
