Any experiences with Title I schools in the county?

The elementary that we are zoned for is a Title I school- the test scores aren't bad, they are 5 this year but have been 6 and 7 in the past. Does anyone have experiences with Title I schools in the county? Have you noticed any behavioral issues? Honestly, sometimes behavioral problems are my biggest concern.

I don't think it's really possible to generalize. Title I is related to financial resources of the children at the school....so this means that the kids in your school are poor, not naughty. Is there a correlation in PGCPS between SES status and some of the behavior issues that come from unstable homes, poverty/deprivation, etc.? I think so....but I really also think you can't generalize. I'd visit and see what kind of a vibe you get.

Our child goes to a Title I school and I was also worried about behavioral problems etc. It turns out that those concerns were unwarranted.
The staff are firm yet respectful of the kids and they seem to reciprocate. I'm sure that many of the kids have less than ideal home lives but mostly they are just kids.
I agree with the PP, try to go to the school and see what you observe.
