Four year old with Autism and ADHD. What indoor pools around DC or Montgomery Co are the best? He prefers some where he can run around . Some where with a kiddie pool area. Thanks!

Not in DC or MoCo,but Rollingcrest-Chillum indoor splash park is close to the line and totally worth the trip. It's got lots of features like an array of slides that all end in shallow water, and a treehouse with sprinklers, that are lots of fun for the kids and a great way to burn off steam. If you're looking for something more mundane, the kiddie pool at Wilson is nice.

I second the Chillum pool which is technicall in PG county but very close to Takoma Park and charges a reduced fee for MoCo residents.

OP, most pools don't you "run around" poolside. You'll have a life guard blowing a whistle at you. (Also, slippery as heck. I knew someone who slipped while waking and still got a concussion.)

The montgomery county pool in Germantown is nice but SUPER crowded on weekends and evenings. If you could go during the week it is awesome. Has stuff for all ages.

The Takoma Rec center pool has a nice kiddie section, and is usually not crowded (when I'm there, anyway).

You aren't supposed to run around pools.

MLK Pool off New Hampshire has a great large kiddie pool with a fountain in the middle that features a bucket contraption that dumps water when it fills -- hard to describe but my SN daughter loves it. I know what you mean by running around. There is a long ramp there leading directly into the water and your child can go up and down it.

One does not run near pools. Try a park.

Maybe 10 more people can post scolding OP that her child cannot run near a pool.

Op here - there is a pool in Ashburn that has a playground feature built in the middle of the kiddie pool. By run around I meant in the water. He likes to splash and run (in the water) but Ashburn is to far to go. I don't care to take him occasionally but looking at closer options.

Try Cub Run Rec Center in Chantilly. My ADHD kid loooooves that place, it's our Sunday afternoon spot.
