Cat attacked my furniture --- slipcovers?

I have an arm chair and a sofa our cat has used as scratching posts. I am planning on using them in our kids' playrooms but need some way to improve their appearance. I'm assuming recovering is too expensive for this type of thing, but where would I get slipcovers? Is there something better?
