That was a good post (although tbh, I was expecting it to be more about how Harvard isn't that good of an undergrad education)

so if places like woodson and gunn are too high pressure and rural places are filled with meth and other dysfunction, where is the sweetspot where thing are relaxed but still lead to great outcomes?

It just seems this is a reflection of overall society having more and more competition.

State Flagships are the sweetspot as far as colleges go.

Let's see. I turned my nose up at Harvard. Harvard turned their nose up at me. We're even.

The thing is that kids whose parents asks questions like this aren't getting into Harvard, MIT, Stanford. The kids who get in are the ones who are setting the curves (yes, there are curves in high school now) in that math class with 3 hours of homework a night.
