Most irritating about your ADHD kid

What is the #1 most tiresome trait about your ADHD child. For me, it's two things: he almost always has an excuse and blames someone else for his mistakes and he has to debate everything. So very tiring. He's 9.

What a pointless question.

My DC whines "mom" and says it over and over without a question or point.

Nothing, she's perfect. Ha. When she hangs on my leg if someone is around.

My child is probably be dx with ADHD before the end of the school year. Is this an ADHD behavior or a personality behavior? In short, some times my son is incredibly obnoxious. I'm trying to sort out what is medical and might be mitigated by meds and what is truly behavioral and might need some sort of behavioral therapy.

Thx

Kids with ADHD can definitely benefit from behavioral therapy. Get started and see if it helps, PP.

The things that PPs mention are the things that bug me about my DC that does not have ADHD. My DC with ADHD is annoying in other ways.

This is what I'm afraid of--citing ADHD as a reason for annoying behavior. How does one know it's the ADHD and without it, the annoying stuff would go away?

Apparently you aren't at all familiar with the annoying traits of a neurotypical 9 year old.

My 9 year old does this. I think she probably has in diagnosed ADHD--she's doing well in school so I haven't bothered to get it addressed yet. I never thought of this as an ADHD symptom though. I'm ADHD and I don't blame other people for my mistakes. I often admit to things that probably aren't even my mistakes because I figure I just spaced out on doing it. .
Do others think this arguing/not accepting responsibility is an ADHD symptom????
