Hosting an "early Thanksgiving" party tomorrow and just realized DH and the kids really want there to be turkey (thought I'd get away with ham ). Where can I get a fresh bird (no time to defrost) on short notice? We are in MoCo. Thanks!

Whole foods may have them, Giant. You can always do a turkey breast or two instead of a whole turkey and those are available year round. Honeybaked Ham sells cooked turkey.
Try calling Harvey's at Union Market.
Eastern Market. Saw some today when I went to order mine for Thanksgiving. At Capitol Hill Poultry. I didn't stop at the Market Poultry counter, but they probably do too.
The downtown DC locations are all out of the way for me, but I will check the local Whole Foods and Giant. I normally only look at frozen turkeys there so could very well have missed it if they offered fresh.
I am pretty sure I saw some butterballs at Safeway in Olney today if that is your thing. If you have a few minutes- up 108 (Route 216 and 108) is Bormans meat market. They usually have a pretty decent selection of meats (and their sausage is the BEST to make stuffing/dressing with).
OP, did you have any luck?
I'm going to say at the store...I think.
It's Saturday morning, might be worth a quick trip by your local farmer's market to check. If you're in Bethesda/Rockville, Pike Market, in its temporary digs at Old Georgetown and Executive.
