Trying to figure out whether to get one and which version. I'd like to use it while traveling, but do you always need access to a computer to upload video before you can take more? Is it easy to use? Do the videos come out shaky? Could my kids figure it out? Is it compatible with mac-based iMovie?
TIA! |

There is enough memory to take and save multiple videos before moving them to the computer; it is easy to use; the videos are not shaky; your kids could definitely use it; it is compatible with Macs (but I don't know anything about iMovie specifically).
There have been a couple of other threads if you search for "Flip." |
| We have one and love it. Ours holds 60 minutes of video before you have to download it. There is a version that holds 30 minutes. Our kids love it and are always wanting to make movies. If there is a downside it is that it only holds 60 minutes so you would probably have to travel with a laptop. |
| Ours hold 60 minutes as well. It's pretty darn easy to use...so yes, I definitely think kids could use it (depending on age, of course). We really like ours. We have a much more expensive camera and haven't picked it up since we got the Flip. For Christmas and DS' birthday (right after Xmas), I videotaped him opening gifts from grandparents and then downloaded it into separate "thank you" greeting cards included with the Flip software and sent them off as electronic thank yous...big hit! I think the video quality is pretty good...at least it's good enough for us. There is an HD version that came out recently, but we decided we probably wouldn't have wanted it anyway because that would just mean the files would take a lot longer to download/send. |

Thank you all!
I have one more question: If we were traveling, is there a way to just e-mail video to ourselves to free up memory? |
