Is it okay to eat discount tuna steaks rare?

My DH picked up some tuna steaks from Giant but they were marked down half off. Is it ok to eat them rare on the inside?

Let him try them first.

I don't think I would do this. And I'm a pretty laissez-faire person when it comes to food sanitation.

Thanks everyone. I cooked em pretty well done. Better safe than sorry.

I much prefer to buy full price and eat em rare but when DH is on shopping duty he feels differently... oh well...

Hell no, I would only eat full priced from whole foods

I'm confused by this... they were clearly tuna, I know what tuna looks like quite well. But rest assured I cooked the hell out of them, they were a bit too dry for my taste actually. But better than getting a parasite.

Oh ok... well this was red tuna, so I think it was the real thing. I'm pretty good about identifying seafood, but of course I could be wrong...
