Gunston Middle School Montessori??

Anyone have experience? Our DD has been in Montessori since pre-K and has done great. We're looking into Gunston but not finding much info on the program or how to apply (not on the standard APS choice school application. We're headed to the middle school fair tonight at W-L but was hoping for a parent's perspective. Thanks!

You can apply as a middle school transfer. It's a good program--the Montessori kids are mostly self-contained in 6th, then in 7th and 8th they take an increasing number of classes with other Gunston students. (I think in 8th it's maybe just homeroom with the Montessori teachers.) It's a good transition for kids who did Montessori all through elementary and aren't used to changing rooms or teachers or having much homework.
