My son got a 200 on the PSAT in seventh grade. Is that a good score?
Here are the breakdowns: Critical Reading: 60 Mathematics: 70 Writing: 70 |
|
You are supposed to add a 0 for predicted SAT scores, so that would be a good score. Is this for AoS admissions? You know you can have your 7th grader take the SAT as well through JHU-CTY or Duke TIP.
The SAT is supposed to be a lot different once our 7th graders get to 11th grade, and if I had known that I probably wouldn't have had my 7th grader take it. Oh well, guess at least she's used to sitting for a long test in a strange classroom. |
| Actually, most test-takes say to add 30 so the 60 in critical read becomes 630 in the SAT; Math 730; Writing 730. |
|
17:02 is correct. Never heard of 17:09's theory.
Yes 200 for a 7th grader is good. PSAT is changing so not sure whether that means anything though. |
Who gives the PSAT in 7th grade? |
Is this from last year? |
I think this is not too bad for a 7th grader. My daughter had 80 80 80 when she went to the local high school to take it as a 6th grader. |
Not bad for a 6th grader. My kid got 90 90 90 as a 5th grader!

OP Here
My son is a seventh grader. You are supposed to apply to AOS in eighth grade. So we will do that next year. He just took it to see what he would get given that he is in Algebra 1 Honors right now. Oh yeah, my husband and I are are computer scientists and electrical engineers, respectively. How do we help my son review the Critical Reading and Writing sections? |
Not bad for a 5th grader. My PK kid got 100,0000,000 in each section. All of the Kumon has been paying off so far. |
Asian? |
|
Stop joking around.
The highest score you can get in each section is an 80. Now shut up. |
It's a humble brag from the OP. Posters can have some fun with it. And what 7th grader just wants to take the PSAT (and is so super advanced he's already gotten scores back). |
Yes, let's just be serious.

nonsense. how do you explain my kid's 90 90 90 then? relax guy. it's monday. |
