Where have you purchased a great cake in Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington, Silver Spring, Wheaton or Rockville? And your favorite flavor if you don't mind telling me. Thanks!

I like the fruit cake from Stella Bakery, both the regular and cheesecake versions.

Thanks for your reply. Is the fruit cake like a traditional fruit cake or is it a cake with fresh fruit between the layers? Thanks.

Jenny Cakes in Kensington makes a nice birthday cake. I think we've had red velvet and chocolate and vanilla at different times, and IIRC they were all good.

Hollin hall pastry shop in Alexandria is amazing. The best vanilla buttercream I have ever had

We got a cute dinosaur themed cake from Cakes by Leslie for my son's birthday the other year. It was way more expensive than I'd usually do, but fun for a once in a blue moon thing.

I think Praline over in that shopping center near Glen Echo might to iced cakes and they are delicious.

NP here. It's cake with fresh fruit between the layers. I personally found it too sweet, though. The jelly between the cake layers put the sweetness over the top for me.

I still boycott Cakes by Leslie due to the breast feeding incident.
