My daughter submitted her app at Pitt three weeks ago and still has not heard back. She had a 3.75 GPA and 1880 SAT so while she wasn't a superstar she was well-within the typical profile.
She applied to other schools but Pitt was her favorite so we're getting a little nervous she wasn't accepted. Thoughts? Is it normal for a rolling admissions school to take this long? People on the other thread said two weeks... |

does she have my pitt account? if so, go to www.my.pitt.edu and have her check. if she doesn't have it, call 412 624 7488 and request one.
i heard pitt is getting a lot more applicants this year so it's taking a little longer than previous years, like three weeks. |
| Pitt leaves it up to applicants to ensure they have submitted all their paperwork, so you may want to double-check to make sure everything has gone in. On paper, the stats look pretty solid for Pitt. |
| Yes, she has a Pitt account. Under "Application status" it simply says - all of your application materials have been received and your application is under review. |
| 19:14 here - I know waiting is hard but I don't think there's much she can do other than just wait. Good luck. |
| Have you visited and done the "Pitt for a day" (I can't remember the exact name)? DS had similar stats 2 years ago and he was asked to send in 1st semester grades before a decision was made. He was then accepted in early February. He also sent an email to his Pitt admissions rep describing a cool Pitt visit. Who knows what worked. But he loves Pitt. (I think the 2 weeks notice is very optimistic). |
| My kids had a response from Pitt in about 4 weeks and they applied early in Sept (a few years ago). Give it some more time. |
