| There seems to be an abundance of choices, but the ones we've tried (Sang Jun, Royal Thai) were totally bland and majorly disappointing. Where can we get some good, flavorful, spicy Thai in Alexandria? |
| I wish I knew - and I'll be watching this thread - but I've making the trip to Thai Square & Bangkok 54 in Arlington (both on Columbia Pike @ Glebe / Walter Reed). Good stuff. |
| I like Pasara Thai, which is near the patent office in the Carlyle area. I think they have another location in Kingstowne. |
| I like Thai Peppers in Del Ray. |
| Mai Thai in Old Town is good. |
|
Sam Phao Thai on King Street has the best basil fried rice.
|
| Sugar Palm on Edsall is good. Nothing we have had closer to us (West End) has been good. Some of it not edible or recognizable. |
| Is po Siam still around? Amazing. They catered our rehearsal dinner. |
| Rabieng, Duangrat and Thai square are our favorites. All further out from old town, but a LOT better and more authentic. |
| Mai Thai old town. Always delicious. |
| bump! Anyone else want to weigh in? |
| Galai Thai on Eisenhower ave (across from the metro) is good. Their num yuk salad is one of my favs |
+1 off the beaten path but really good |
Nope, they closed sometime in the past year(ish). |
|
Po Siam was great. I'm disappointed that it closed.
Mai Thai and Thai Peppers are meh. I haven't found a truly great Thai restaurant, but some of the ones on Columbia Pike are decent (Bangkok 54 and one more whose name escapes me. DH and I both got sick from Dungarats in FC. Avoid. |
