Someone posted about this blog a couple of months ago and they are starting a new "style challenge" in a few weeks - Build Your Wardrobe Basics. The concept is you get a list of key items to purchase or find in your current wardrobe, and then the stylist gives you 21 different ways to combine those basic items. There is a facebook group where the women post their versions of the outfits, questions, etc.
Has anyone done this before? Was it worth the $25? I'm not great at putting together outfits and feel like I need a refresh. I was thinking of hiring a "stylist for a day" but this would be way cheaper... |

From just looking at it, I think it would be a waste of money because not all of their outfit suggestions will necessarily look good on YOU.
Also, a lot of style blogs (though I'm afraid I don't have many suggestions because I just stick to Pinterest for inspiration) do posts on "capsule wardrobes" that would give you the same ideas for free. |

I actually did sign up for this style challenge after reading about it here. For me, I was basically starting from scratch and it was totally worth it. I haven't worn every outfit combination yet, but I have already gotten lots of compliments from friends and my DH.
To the PP above that said it might be a waste because the outfits dont work for you, I would like to introduce the idea that this line of thinking is exactly how some of us (myself included) get stuck in boring and outdated clothes. Try something new! |
| I also did the challenge after reading about it here. This one sounds really good for "basics" rather than more trendy items. Debating if I want to do another one so soon... |
