Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers
The first party was big and we invited everyone. What about the second birthday? Only kids in the same age? Where? Our home is small so maybe a a park? Any suggestions given the chance of a heat wave or afternoon thunderstorms that happen often in the summer? We catered the first but what about a second? It's early but I'd like to book something in case it's popular.
Do something small with just a couple of kids DC's age at your home. You don't want them to be overwhelmed and you have several years in front of you for the bigger parties.
At two, we had three other kids over and had an afternoon party in the backyard with a junior-sized moonbounce, water table, bubbles, etc. It was perfect. At 3 and 4, we had almost 30 kids to various party venues, so remember that there is plenty of time for that later as their circle of friends enlarges!
We are keeping it small so we can keep it at home. It will still be tight - hoping for good weather so everyone hangs out outside!
It is "suggested" that you invite your child's age plus one more...so a two year old would have 3 other kids at the "party". My two year old was thrilled with her cousins and some balloons in the backyard- we grilled out so no need to be in inside ( except for bathroom visits). Hope to do it again for her 3rd this summer!!
