French immersion for older child

I'm planning on attempting to send DC to one of the French immersion schools in time for 3rd. I know the kid must be proficient by then. DC has been in tutoring since age three and is conversational. Anyone have experience with sending their child with this sort of background? How hard is the test?

What the testers really care about is whether your child will succeed in classes like social studies and math. So depending on your child's grade, they will ask him or her to, for example, describe in French how to solve a division problem. Get the tutor to since some math problems with your child, and make sure she can use the vocabulary.
