Cautiously Optimistic...Beta 38.6- 18dpiui Could this be good news?

Any help here would be appreciated. history...diagnosed with two blockd tubes from 1st HSG went for a second opinion and HASGand received another two blocked fallop tubes diagnosis. In the interim had a BFP (naturally) resulted in miscarriage in October 2008.


I had my first round of IUI with Clomid, Gonal F and Ovidrel in January. IUI on 1/23/08; 2ww with progesterone suppositories. Beta test on Monday 2/9/09 was 5.77 the nurse told me that was considered negative and that I should prep for next round of IUI. Interestingly enough AF started 2/9/09. Returned to the RE today for bw and u/s and waiting for afternoon call to start new meds tonight. Finally I received the call from RE but with the message not to start meds because my beta is now 38.6. Could this be a positive beta?
Anyone had a successful pregnancy with such a low beta after 18dpiui?

Not sure what to think....going for third beta on Monday and praying for double or triple increase in numbers. I realize that low numbers sometimes means ectopic preg and I know I am prone since I have blocked tubes but just looking for some encouragement or hope.

OP here- It seems like it was good news. Today's beta was 438.

Sounds like my ectopic numbers. Glad you're with an RE and I hope this is just a late implanter. Keep us posted.

Saw your beta has gone up lots--Congratulations.

Although I didn't have an IVF-my beta was 426 16 DPO. Your beta more than tripled in 4 days-that's good!

OP- Here again- Looks like it was a later implanter--- very late but I'll take it...Beta rose again yesterday to 940. I am still cautiously optimistic but very excited. Tomorrow for the OB u/s to check uterine cavity etc. Keeping positive and praying...

26dpiui Beta HCG 1,129 and bleeding and no sac found in the uterus
30dpiui Beta HCG 1,106 and spotting

My RE informed me today that I am experiencing an e-pregnancy and will need to determine if levels decrease on their own or if I will need to take the mext.

I am very frustrated right now...after a miscarriage in Oct and now this- it seems that a healthy viable preg is not going to happen anytime soon. Trying to stay positive.
