Baby shower rental space requires cold food and no meals-- what to serve?

They do not allow meals or hot foods in the meeting rooms. What can we serve? Outside of cake that is.. Ideas needed!

Wine, cheese, sushi (raw and cooked), finger sandwiches... you can get all sorts of appetizer/snack platters from your local grocery store, if you order ahead. Wegmans makes it really easy, if you're close to one.

All good suggestions and +1 on the Wegman's idea. Or Costco. They have great fruit and veggie and other finger food trays. Plus maybe pastries or something? I've been to plenty of baby showers where it was just little sandwiches, fruits, veggies, and cake. Just as long as it is not at a typical meal time (like 12 or 1) so people know they won't be receiving a full meal.

Basically do a heavy tea, maybe?

Finger sandwiches. Several kinds. A cold Smithfield ham with sweet potato biscuits. Crudités. Nuts. Olives. Veggie plates. Chopped salad. Pastries. Tea cakes. Cookies etc.

Sandwiches, cold salads, cookies. Works better anyway - people can eat as much or as little as they like.

what time of day is the shower? is it in an office? if it is at lunchtime, mini sandwiches/wraps are perfect. If it is late morning, bagels, muffins, green salad If it is late afternoon, I'd just do desserts.
