Travis and Taylor

Solo travel around the world via her private jet, like it's a personal uber. So gross. Climate change rules for thee, not for me.

I am not a Taylor/Travis hater but that's really revolting to me. Pretty much indefensible. I know other billionaires do stuff like this all the time too. They should all be called out.

Give it a rest. Every billionaire has at least one plane. Focus on your own lives...stop eating meat, driving cars, living in big houses, etc. and then you can complain. Hypocrites.

Unfortunately due to so many weirdos who get worked up about what they read on the internet (ahem....) she needs privacy of her own jet. The royals can fly commercial because they literally have the security force of a small country monitoring their every move and work in lock step with British airways.

Sure Swiftie, deflect & ignore it.
You are the hypocrite.

I'm not holding my breath about Taylor not turning this into a double album with all the ways she tried so hard but was ultimately done wrong ("on the goal line" or "in the red zone" or "in the game of love" or how she's "no longer a fan") lol

The game analogies are actually funny to think about!

Maybe they will. But why don't people say this about male artists? No one asks why Post Malone, Ed Sheeran, Rod Stewart, Bruno Mars, Prince, the Righteous Brothers, all of them, wrote break up songs. Hell, Fleetwood Mac thrived on in-your-face break ups, with the two of them still there, and they were applauded for it. What is it about hers that have people so offended? And don't say how many there are. There are tons of her songs that AREN'T. Who cares already.

I think because she started writing break-up songs before she was really formed as an adult. It’s like she never really matured as a woman.

She writes and sings about a variety of subjects as a 'grown woman'. What do you recommend she write and sing about?

Hunger, civil rights, racial justice, how to be a better person, how to forgive, climate change, fearing something other than being a bad lover, how people fit into the universe and the ways other people get treated cruelly (not just Taylor), gun control and the fear not having it generates in children and our society, how someone struggles with depression, not just feeling anxious over loss of control, death.

NP. So if Taylor Swift doesn’t magically transform into Zack De La Rocha, she just shouldn’t make music?

Seriously -who wants to listen to that shite? I want to sing while I'm driving, not solve the world's problems.

Thank you. It’s ok for music to be fun.
But saying that she doesn’t tackle topics beyond her relationships is inaccurate. Here are a few ts songs that address your topics of choice:
gun violence/voting rights: only the young
forgiveness: innocent
depression: evermore, this is me trying, forever winter (suicide)
anxiety: nothing new, peace, castles crumbling, mirrorball, the archer, never grow up
grief/loss: bigger than the whole sky

I could keep going. Yes, I’m a swiftie (obviously).

“You Need to Calm Down”

"Soon you'll get better" Is probably one of the first songs the made me tear up. Taylor just has a way with lyrics. I'm not a fan of all of her songs, but she covers such a wide range of emotions and topics it is easy to find one of her songs that sticks with you.

Actually just kidding, "Ronan" was the first song to make me tear up.

Holy cow that’s good!

It is. I am not a Taylor fan but... wow.

The complain there is not that she has a private jet, but that she flew it empty to Hawaii to give Travis Kelce a ride back to Australia. That's extremely wasteful and not necessary for security.

I do not eat meat.
I drive a compact EV and do not use it for commuting.
I live in a 1000 sq ft condo with three other people.

I think Taylor and ALL billionaires should stop with the egregious PJ use (and flying an empty plane from Sydney to Hawaii to give your boyfriend a ride is egregious). I am not a hypocrite.

It wasn't Taylor on the plane, it was her D list jock boyfriend. He can safely fly commercial. It is beyond excessive and gross for that empty jet to taxi around the world to fly one jock to Australia.

This! Even if she “needs” it, she doesn’t have to send it for a useless trip like that. He can’t just get a first class seat on a commercial plane?

And the carbon emissions for an average person living their life is nothing compared to a jet flight.

I just don't care. Look at FlightRadar. You think one plane makes any difference at all when the sky is literally peppered with planes at all times? It just doesn't.

I'm the anti-hypocrite. I'd fly private jet in a hot damn minute if I could.

At the VERY least she could have chartered him a private flight so it would only be disgusting excess one way

None of that will equal or reduce the damage from billionaire planes.

How about my DH's company that literally puts him on a plane every other day to golf or lunch or whatever and pretty much fly right back? IT's so systemic.

Billionaire planes are a drop in the bucket. We are a world of air travel like it or not. And cargo air transport and all of it. The 1% who own private planes matters not one bit.

Back to Taylor and Travis, good for them enjoying themselves. I’m here for it.
