Own up to it: the Democrats impeached Trump because they wanted to try and damage Trump ahead of the election and Pelosi was railroaded by the left ......... and it looks like they blew it! Between a strong economy and the baseless rationale for impeachment, Trump's approval numbers have gone up!

NP: “Own up to it” that Trump stonewalled not letting anyone testify that had first-hand knowledge. And that’s also an impeachable offense.

I thought the Democrats had an iron-tight case all proven which was why Trump needed to be impeached. Now we find, they have NOTHING other than hearsay and inference which is why they want to call other witnesses.

Those witnesses who were blocked from testifying could have been subpoenaed and the courts could have enforced it if warranted but that would have taken too long and would not have fit into the Democrats plan to damage Trump before the election.

Well, the best laid plans go wrong ........ and the impeachment has if anything improved Trump's prospects for reelection! Between the impeachment fiasco and the piss poor quality of candidates that the Democrats have as a potential nominee, it does not look good ............. and, of course, let's not forget the phenomenal economy under Trump which is turning out to be the Democrat's worst nightmare!

How is it that every Trump supporter on this forum can *simultaneously* believe:
1. Democrats are liberal, coastal elites who ignore the concerns of the ordinary working class.
2. Democrats are terribly hurt and angry about a strong economy and stock market highs.
3. Democrats are all socialists who want to redistribute wealth from the rich to the poor.

Democrats rhetoric and actions affirm the above ............

Ok. But you can see the contradictions right? How can a Democrat be an "elite" and not be profiting from the stock market hugely? How can they be so rich but support socialism? If they regard they have no concern for the working class, why do they want to redistribute wealth to them?

Your worldview is broken. You might want to fix it. For your own sake.

Yup. +1 Well done. But I bet s/he sitll doesn't see the contradictions.

The liberal mind is trained to lie to itself all the time. The only way to even be liberal is to lie to yourself constantly about reality. As for wealth redistribution, none of the "plans" involve the truly elite providing any of their funds. It is at the expense of fee-earning people that make their money through salaries; income taxes. Hard working people that got where they are not because of who they are, but because they worked harder or smarter than others.

Any concerns for the working class are feigned to make liberals feel better. It is all about virtue signaling and acting as if they possess some sort of moral high ground and superiority. Ask them about deep vein coal miners in WV and you are going to get an earful about how terrible that is for the environment, and a bunch of nonsense about how they are subhuman anyways because they may have voted for the orange man. As for the roaring economy, they are all trying to figure out a way to say it is going to crash, because deep down they know if the economy continues in this way the Orange man will get another term because MOST people vote with their wallets, as they don't have the luxury of voting otherwise.

How and when does this training occur? I'm surprised that a "liberal mind" can hold down a job or have a marriage or kids or anything. Wow. Half the population is constantly lying to themselves about reality? And the conservatives are always telling the truth?

How are you sure you're not lying to yourself about the "liberal mind" to act as if you possess some sort of moral high ground and superiority?

Don't try to argue with Trumpers. They are immune to logic, reason, and reality. They sit around and project all their own faults and problems onto the boogieman "liberals" that Fox News has taught them to demonize and fear.

Don't waste your time.

These days, it starts early. In the school system, and most importantly in the "higher education system" we have in the US. But, you knew that already, or maybe you know it but want to lie to yourself about the indoctrination of complete and utter nonsense. Kids these days can't even handle regular discourse on college campuses. You think that is a good thing? Talk about preparing the next round of weaklings for the slaughter in the real world.

Sure, these liberals can have jobs just like anybody else, and many are productive, but when it comes to policy and politics that is when the internal lying machine starts. Like the lie that is the idea that the economy is going to crash. Just like the lie that was told about how the entire world was going to be over when the Orange man won the election in the first place. Nuclear war they said. Remember all those lies? How about the polls that said the Orange man was going to get smoked. Those were lies too. Just like the lies that the US economy was going to crash, yet here we are, with record numbers. Imagine that. What a turn of events!

Liberals are good at a few things. Destroying things that work. Lying. Dividing people. Making up strife that doesn't exist. And, otherwise ruining things.

The American people are tired of being told they are dolts when they don't want a bunch of terrible liberal policies shoved down their throats. That will be reflected again in 2020 when whatever loser the democrats put up gets annihilated.

There are a bunch of excuses to avoid giving Trump any credit: it was Obama's achievement, too much income inequality, the tax breaks were weighted towards the wealthy, a recession is in the offing, the economy is not really doing that well and on and on.

The average American knows that things have been better than they have known in decades. Come November when Trump wins reelection, we will see a new level of animosity towards Trump.

The melt down is going to be great. I made a TON of money when Trump was elected trading. Looking forward to doing the same again.

I think the ultra-libs on this board should take some business trips to other parts of the country. Ask their uber drivers what they think. I am sure the answers would surprise them. Since they are so stressed out about the "republic" and what may or may not have happened on a phone call with Ukraine, even though their entire efforts are directed to actually destroying the republic as we KNEW it.

GHWB and W both left recession or fractured economies.

Clinton and Obama repaired them.

Don't even with the lying, given President 13,000 lies currently in the White House. And strife? Sure I guess there isn't strife when you are selling the country out for personal gain to the Russians, Saudis and Chinese.

Pretty good, indeed!

Democrats are besides themselves about the economy roaring ahead ......... and the market doing very well.

The impeachment was an attempt to mitigate the great economy and try to knock Trump down. It appears to have backfired: Trump's approval rating is actually going up!

There is an easy explanation: it would be insanity to embrace the policies of some of the leading contenders for the nomination. It would destroy this economy. Does anyone want to risk what is working for some pie in the sky scheme by the Democratic candidates?

I find Trump to be really offensive and uncouth in some of what he does and I wish he would be more restrained ......... but millions of voters will choose poor optics over hare-brained economic policies and mindless social spending.

Pretty good? Tell me what a 1-1.5% pay increase works out to on the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour? Oh, I’ll do it. .07 an hour! That’s $ 2.50 a week people!

Poor people have nothing to complain about under Trump!!

I see, so now Democrat presidents are responsible for economies that were doing well. How convenient. Amazing even! The orange man, not so much, of course. It was zero that caused all this to happen.

None of what you vomit out is responsive to any of what I posted. I suspect you now have a case of severe Bruxism these days. Might want to get that checked out so you don't grind your teeth into non-existence.

And, the whole Russian thing. The demo-craps tried that angle for 2.5 years and it went nowhere. Notice how nobody, even failed CNN, talks about that anymore. BTW, how may people do you know that work at CNN? I know plenty. But for the Orange man many of them were going to get Riffed. You know that, right? Including the legal staff?

Get a grip on reality. But, I know you won't. You will grasp onto the next lie the liberal machine generates, and I am sure it will make you feel good and superior, morally. So, we have that. Good luck with all that. Maybe you can go-pro your meltdown during the 2020 election when the Orange man wins again and post it for all of us to see on youtube. xoxo

$2 trillion tax cut to achieve 2% economic growth.
So easy a cave man could do it

One of the great enduring stupidities of the American presidential cult is the belief, rooted in invincible ignorance, that the state of the U.S. economy at any given moment is a reflection of the intelligence and wisdom of the chief executive of the federal government and a result of the excellence or insufficiency of his administration. “Sure, Bill Clinton may have been an intern-diddling hillbilly and maybe even a violent rapist, but, man, my IRA kicked ass in the 1990s!”

It’s dumb, but it rules politics.

....

Trump has done almost nothing of substance on the economy, and what his administration has done — a bit of excellent regulatory reform — is unlikely to affect growth dramatically in the short term. Regulatory reform is a good investment, but one with a long timeline for payoff. When you hear someone crediting a president with an economic boom or strong wage growth, ask them in some detail about the actual mechanism they believe to be at work, some plausible chain of causality. You’ll rarely get a satisfying answer.

NP here. You guys both need to calm down. And, please, don’t say “he started it!”

Liberals have found religion about the economy and the markets and the extent to which the president should be credited with the performance of the economy and the stock market.

Never mind that we heard endlessly about how Obama was responsible for preventing the US economy and the rest of the world going into a depression ........ and for the first 18 months of Trump's presidency that the performance of the economy and the markets had nothing to do with Trump but was the "after burn" effect of Obama's policies.

I guess now that it is three years into Trump's presidency, it is difficult to continue to argue that the credit should go to Obama but in typical liberal fashion they have now decided that it has nothing to do with who is president - never mind all the kudos they were giving to Obama while he was president!

To this day, I hear of how Clinton's presidency and the policies he pursued were responsible for the phenomenal growth we saw in the nineties .......... in fact, I have been someone who has given Clinton credit.

So the new rule is: economic prosperity when we have a Democratic president is because of the president but when that happens under a Republican president it has nothing to do with who is president.

The economy does not equal the stock market.

It's nice that the Dow is up so much, but it isn't anywhere close to the growth promised by the tax cuts, and there certainly isn't any investment in R&D or infrastructure, just creating a oligarchal class.

Wheeee!

I know that.
And you know that.
But Trump doesn't know that.
And his supporters don't know that.
So I will continue to point out that ways that the economy is suboptimal.

eh this is one of the biggest liberal fallacies out there

If you are working a minimum wage job after 6-12 months you are a moron.

Minimum wage jobs were never meant to support someone long term. There are a floor for entry level workers with minimal skills.

Correlation is not causation. Trump is not responsible for any of the factors driving economic growth. Congress deserves some credit for blocking Trump’s worst proposals.
