Only 12 students (out of ~100) applied to ND last year. Five got in. If you have decent stats and apply early to either of these schools, you will almost definitely get in. I agree Tres Bien is ridiculous. |
This is fine as long as she uses other opportunities to address other serious issues in society. Migrant crime, carjackings, gun violence, etc. People are also exposed to these things. Why isn't she concerned about anxiety caused by actual crime, which is rampant in DC. |
This is a Catholic school that costs almost $50k per year so yes it’s by definition for rich Catholics, pretty similar to most of the other schools discussed in this forum. Like many other schools there is a formal dance at the end of senior year, which is optional. There are around 400 girls in the high school, lots of different academic interests, sports, arts, etc. I’ve never heard anyone say it’s the blonds vs lepers, this is a very strange take on the school and not at all our experience. |
She sends messages about topical issues all the time and there is always someone who disagrees, I don’t entirely agree with what they highlight but I also think it’s impossible to thread the needle in such a big and diverse community. |
I think most families are nice and the HOS seems quite nice as well but yes I agree that a few bad apples can ruin the bunch. 2028 class has apparently been taken over by just a few mean country club moms that have made the grade very polarized. I hear they did/do the same apparently at their son's school as well. |
You think using the military for domestic crime fighting is okay? Please move to North Korea. How about measures to improve circumstances in the District instead of sending in combat troops that are not trained to deal with domestic law enforcement. How about not exaggerating the amount of crime (which was already trending down) to play dictatorial war games. Everyone wants to prevent and address crime. People don't want a militarized autocratic government. Shockingly, many people find this display stressful and upsetting even as they would like to see crime addressed. So hard to believe, I know. |
I feel much safer with them around. Sorry you feel threatened. You must be a criminal yourself or have family members who are. |
Or maybe just a person of color who doesn’t want to be subjected to unwarranted search and seizure. My daughter was walking out of the Nats game and her Hispanic friends walking with her were detained and asked to show proof of citizenship. You don’t need to be a criminal for this to effect you and those cheering tend to be people who will never be on the painful side of this. |
There are plenty people of color who are safer in DC now than they ever were--people who live in the neighborhoods that have the constant gun violence. Obviously you don't have any concern for them...just the wealthy POC visiting the city or from NW. |
Interesting, my DD of color and her friend of color recently attended an evening Nats game as well. They knew about the teen curfew implemented BEFORE Trumps takeover, and I reminded them not to f-around after the game (it was late) and head home. How big was this group? Because Bowser created the group rule for teens under a certain age? Also, asking for CITIZENSHIP? More likely asking for ID, to verify this group had permission to be assembling/hanging out in Navy Yard at the time they were. Bowser put these rules into effect (and at national harbor) maybe even 14th/u but not sure. While I don’t agree at all with what trump is doing, the last thing we need is hyperbole. You don’t have to be a citizen to have a DL, btw. |
SR girls are kicking butt this year with college acceptances! Already we’ve got one in at Dartmouth, another Notre Dame, and today someone was accepted into Harvard! 🎉🎉🎉 |
You left out that these are all athletic recruits. But yes that is impressive. There is also a lacrosse commit to Princeton. |
Go Gators! |
I have heard so many people complain about the mean moms from 28 batch. A lot of them say these families came from NCS. |
Personally. I think it’s the 29s. |
