It's the other way around. Lacrosse just isn't very deep in the DC area as witnessed by PVI not having a jv team, Episcopal not being able to field both jv and varsity teams for the iac tourney due to roster sharing, sssas barely had 2 teams. Even schools like SJ (10) and Bullis (9) had a number of floaters on both rosters. If the WCAC had a jv tourney, I would bet they have a tough time coming up with 4 teams of independent jv/varsity players. Landon, GP, GZ might be the only schools where the rosters are deep enough to field full rosters at both the varsity and jv level. If your kid is a pretty good player anywhere other than those 3 (Others?) and they aren't on varsity, then you should lower your aspirations.

This just goes in the unintended consequences category. Youth lacrosse is down in the area somewhere between 40 and 60%. The proliferation of club mindset was very easy to predict. And it would eventually trickle down to the privates. Smaller pond and all.

Peaked and actually ran down significantly, like most of it, well prior to covid.

Nationally, participation has been stable-ish since 2018, but that's only because of non-hot beds growing. Established areas declining.

Maybe you misunderstood his post or don't know how supply and demand works.
Rec charges(d) $150-200 a year. Fields saw they can charge $175-250 an hour to clubs and rec can't afford that.

You can charge thousands and unless you're an idiot take home half even while doing that and $4-5000+ tournaments.

You don’t know how field space is allocated. Again, when the county sends out county field space reservation. Time is given to rec teams 1st at no charge or extremely low rates. Then outside parties are give their choice at much higher rates.

You didn't understand the OP or the first reply. Rec cannot afford the rates that clubs of all stripes can. Or they couldn't pay refs. Field owners now charge that, and have priced out rec.

You will have a tough time when you are tasked with simple math in other areas of your life.
