Flashing smileys on Clomid

Anonymous
I took Clomid this cycle, and started testing with the smiley face OPK on Day 10. The flashing smiley face started on Day 14, and I had my third flashing smiley this morning (Day 16). I read somewhere that Clomid may cause more flashing smileys than one might normally have (I was expecting two, for some reason). I'm not totally sure how to time sex - we tend to do it every other day because my husband has a low sperm count (though he is also on Clomid, so his counts should be up). We had sex on Day 13 and Day 15, and would normally do it again tomorrow (Day 17). Anybody have advice? I really want to get pregnant this time!

Aren't you being monitored?

I read that the only reliable smiley on clomid is the non-flashing one. Sometimes you can get false "flashing smiley" readings on clomid. Good luck!

Thanks, OP here. I ended up getting the solid smiley after three flashing days, so not too far off the mark. To answer a previous question, I'm not being monitored this cycle - I'm in between REs and had already gotten the Clomid prescription.

One question - can I really trust the OPK? No reason to keep testing this month, right?

When I got pregnant with my daughter (on clomid) I had a flashing smiley about day 10 or 11 (don't remember exactly) and thought that was it. Then day 18 (seems late, but I read late isn't unusual on clomid) I was having some cramping and thought it might be ovulation. Sure enough had a smiley and conceived!
