Birthday Dinner in DC with visitors from out of town?

Anonymous
Hello everyone,

I am planning a birthday dinner, either in Bethesda or DC, for four or five people. We would love a steakhouse, but it looks like all of the "top" steakhouses are a la carte (and like high 40s just for steak!). We were hoping not to spend more than like 30-35 on each dish. Does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants that serve great steak (doesn't necessarily have to be a steakhouse, though)?? Or maybe even italian?

Thank you!

Woodmont Grill might be in your price range.

The Classics, formerly Ray's Silver Spring

Agree with The Classics in Silver Spring. If you sit in the front area you can order off the bistro menu which has a great hanger steak plus salad or soup for I think 23.99. All steaks come with whipped potatoes and creamed spinach. They also have the famous hell burger that Obama and Biden have gone out to eat. Correction to previous post is that it used to be called Ray's the Classics, not Silver Spring.

As previously noted Mon Ami Gabi might be another option that although not a stirctly steak restaurant, would have good steak options plus other things and likely under $30 per entree.
