Are you looking for a WILD way for your child to learn about animals and the natural world? Preschool programs, Children's classes, and Homeschool classes at the National Zoo start on November 3!

Children's classes at the National Zoo offer fun, weekly explorations of life science and conservation through hands-on activities, crafts, science experiments, and visits to the Zoo's animal collection. Classes meet once a week for 5 weeks. There is no direct animal contact during classes.

Please see below for descriptions of specific themes and age groups. Register your child today at http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Education/CampsClasses/

Shapes with the Apes (ages 2-3): Join us on a shape safari at the National Zoo! Each week a different shape will guide our explorations of a Zoo animal and the adaptations that help it survive. (M, T, W, or F from 10:00-11:30 a.m.; must be accompanied by adult)

Sense-ational Species (ages 4-6): For many animals, senses of light, touch, taste, and smell differ from our own. Observe animals in action, conduct revealing scent and sound experiments, and create a take-home craft that will help you practice your sensory skills. (T or W from 1:00-2:30 p.m.; must be accompanied by adult)

Home Sweet Habitat (Home Education Program, ages 6-11): There really is no place like home… and autumn is a wild time in the deciduous forests that surround our region! Get ready to dig deep into our local ecosystem and its residents as we explore the biome in our backyard. (Th from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.)

All programs are $150/series for FONZ members and $187.50 for non-members. Find more information and register today at http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Education/CampsClasses/

For questions and additional information, please contact FONZ_programs@si.edu

We will see you at the Zoo!
