is "our kids" subscription worth it to find events to do around the city?

FOr An 8 year old boy. I know the subscription is not much...but wondering if you have found the resource useful for planning your weekends in and around DC. TIA.

I enjoyed it. It's an easy way to find local activities.

It can't hurt. I feel like the WaPo's coverage of kid events in the Going out Guide has deteriorated over the years. Kid Friendly DC is pretty good for ideas. Also if your kid likes theatre, this is a good site: http://www.theatreindc.com/childrens.php

I subscribed for a year, but never ended up using it. I have a friend who uses it every weekend to find things to do, but I found our weekends are so full of activities, birthday parties, family events, etc., that I'm rarely looking for something to do.

I use it all the time. For the weekly email and the full database of events on the site. Plus I enter/win some of the contests so I more than make up for the yearly cost.
