Anyone have issues with basset furniture?

Anonymous
bought our bedroom furniture there 7 years ago, and i don't think we are not rough on our furniture. in the past 3 months, 3 separate knobs have come off (one, literally, in the middle of the night while we were sound asleep). I dont think we are hard on our furniture - our guest room and kids room have the furniture we grew up with, hardware intact. just curious if anyone else has had the problem....i thought they were a good company to buy from.

I have not had any trouble with the upholstered furniture that I bought from them. In fact I just donated a 10 year old bassett loveseat that literally looks like new furniture (except for the dated arm style). But I noticed that the floor sample of a bed that I was considering purchasing had a lot of scuffs and scratches. That made me question the durability of their wood furniture.

Hope not! We just purchased a sofa from them!

Purchased a custom sectional sofa from them 4 years ago. It has survived the birth of now 3-yo twins and multiple visits from my extremely obese BIL (who has just had gastric bypass surgery). Despite a few toddler accidents (ballpoint pen artwork was the most worrisome), it still looks and feels brand new.

OP here. Just a follow-up. Bassett's warranty on wood furniture is 1 year, and if I want new knobs I have to purchase them for $10 each. The cost isn't the end of the world, but I am shocked that this isn't the kind of thing where they are willing to replace. I'm not even sure how we could cause that to happen. Just wanted to share in case anyone is considering it to beware....

It has been 7 years and you won't pay $10 to replace knobs?

Our dresser is five years old in our child room. No issues. We had one issue with a drawer when we got it and they fixed it right away.

OP here. Of course I'll pay it...I'm not going to have 3 missing knobs. I just think the quality is the point. One could be a random occurrence. 3 in a period of 3 months....it's a quality thing. Plus, it's not just $10....it's at least $30 now. I didn't buy from IKEA for a reason.

I have been married 7 years and we still use the set my husband used before we were married - no issues, great set.
