Super frequent periods when they return?

Anonymous
I'm about 8 1/2 months post-partum. I got my period back around 7 months and had a period about 2 weeks ago, and now I'm bleeding again. I have an IUD. No pain or anything else unusual. Did this happen to anyone else? Ideas what is going on? Should I see a doctor?

Which IUD do you have? If non-hormonal, did you come in contact with another woman who was having her period? That always used to make me have mine early. Also, with Paraguard my cycles were fairly short.

OP - non-hormonal. And no idea... (not close enough contact that I would know).

how old are you? can be a perimenopausal symptom.

Mine did that the first few months it was back (I think it missed me and wanted to make up for lost time ). Having shorter cycles was not out of the ordinary for me when I was off hormonal birth control, so I wasn't too worried by it.

Mine returned around 8m PP and then not again for about 40 days! If you are still nursing, maybe wait another month and then go to the dr?

I didn't have an IUD, but when my periods returned and were still trying to normalize, I had very frequent periods. I started charting and figured out that they were anovulatory cycles that happened every 2 weeks, eventually dragging out to 3 weeks and then FINALLY normal ovulatory cycles about 6 months after my first postpartum "period".

I switched to natural feminine pads, because the plastic/chemicals in the Always made my body react so intensely after having a baby.

My period has been back for around a year and is just starting to level out. My cycle was wacko for the first year (period came back at 13 months post partum, one month after I stopped pumping). It wasn't quite every two weeks, but it was way more frequent than it was before. No birth control use.
