Trader Joes' was pretty tasty, nice crust, but SO skimpy on the rubarb and way too much jelly filling. I didn't like the crust on the whole foods one.
I don't bake. Where can I buy a really delicious strawberry rhubarb pie? |
| Awww no other rhubarb lovers? |
| I had my first taste of this type of pie from the Pie Gourmet in Falls Church. I hear from those who know that their Strawberry Rhubarb is one of the best around! |

sorry...had a brain dead moment! My friends who recommended it to me live in Falls Church...the Pie Gourmet is in Vienna! |
|
Dangerously Delicious is pretty good, but the crust isn't my favorite. I've had the pie from the Vienna shop and I remember it being good.
Pies, especially fruit pies, are easy to make. The per made grocery store crust is always pretty good, and you just need strawberries, rhubarb, sugar, and flour or cornstarch. |

Is there a best strawberry-rhubarb pie?
My mom use to make rhubarb pie. What a disappointment to discover it was rhubarb. Maybe the addition of strawberries helps ... |
| It's not in-season. Why would one eat this pie in the winter? |
+1. Are you asking for the summer? You're aren't going to find a good one right now. |
The question is why wouldn't you. Rhubarb and strawberries can come from anywhere just like the apples or the pumpkin in pies. |
The local apples I'm getting right now from a market close to our house are so much better than the apples I buy during non-apple season. With that said, apples and pumpkins are much hardier than strawberries. There is a big difference between an out-of-season strawberry and an out-of-season apple. |
I just bought one from Trader Joes, that's what made me think of it. |

OP,
I just got a fantastic one at Butlers Orchard. Tangy not syrupy sweet. |
+1 this place is the shit |
Who are your friends I know of some falls church couples who recommend it as well. |
