Are Americans starting to eat healthier?

Anonymous
Coca-Cola and McDonald's just posted terrible domestic results and both releases talk about future demand issues.

Is this a reflection of the american consumer wising up and not poisoning themselves?

Hopefully they will offer more healthy items. I want them to come up with a no fat, low carb burger that tastes good.

Or people just want better service and quality like chik-fila

I am more concerned about their husbandry practices and advertising schemes. Their slaughterhouses are a nightmare. They need to fix that before I'd even consider eating there. A little fat from a burger once in a while is fine, it's the ethics I take issue with.

Also with the advertising, they target low income, low education people with cheap food. They have games, like the monopoly games, that you can only get pieces for if you buy the largest sized item. They can't say they're trying to serve healthier food when they pull stunts like that.

Yup, PP, I'd go to McD's every once in a while if they cleaned up their agricultural practices. I can't eat cows that have been raised and slaughtered that way. If I have to go I get fries and leave it at that.

No Americans are not eating healthier. There are just other options for the fast food $$.

I articulated my personal reasons for not eating at McDonald's, didn't resort to name calling, and yet I'm the moron. Fascinating.
