Do you remember many people from highschool?

Now that I am back in the DC area from time to time I bump into or hear from someone from highschool and...I don't remember them AT ALL or I recall a bit, but not much. It's all a blur. I feel so bad when someone comes up to me all excited to reminisce and I don't remember them or anything they mention. No, I wasn't drunk or high, just studied a lot and I hated highschool. I hated all the phonies and the cliques and so I just studied and found a bunch of after school activities I enjoyed. I had my possy in highschool I suppose, but despite how it looked on the outside, I thought they were pretty superficial and vapid. I don't keep in touch with any of them. If anything I remember the people who marched to a different drummer because I did. I would like to bump into them.

I had a wonderful elementary school experience and I remember so many people vividly. College was amazing! I still am close to my best friends from elementary school and college, but the in between period is mostly fuzzy.

For my husband, it's all a blur other than his the 3 close friends he has had since preschool or elementary!

Do you remember much about highschool?

I remember most of the people, but that's probably because I went to school with most of them from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. I don't remember a lot of what happened though - if I ran into a random acquaintance from HS on the street I wouldn't know much about them other than name and maybe who they hung out with.

Yes, but I have to thank fb for that.

I remember the high school experience as if it was yesterday -- and I'm almost in my mid 30s. I think I was one of the ones that peaked then, so high school is a positive memory. As for knowing the people -- it was a 400 person class so I'm not sure I even knew them all back then; though if I ran into them I'd recognize and be able to chat with 1/4 to 1/2 of them.

No one.

I'm 50 and remember nearly all of them. My HS class was about 100. A lot of people come back for reunions and I'm connected to a surprising number on FB. I didn't love HS but it was a pretty selective private school (one everyone on this board tries to get their kids into) and my classmates are generally smart and interesting people. I like them better now than I did then.

Every miserable interaction is seared into my brain unfortunately.

I have very vague memories of some people. My closest friends, I absolutely remember. Random people I went to school with? I wouldn't know them if they were standing in front of me. Even though several have friended me on FB, I don't remember them.

It seems like there have been a lot of posts about high school lately. How old are you, OP? For better or for worse, it's over now, so whatever it was for you--good, bad, or indifferent--people need to get over it.

That being said, I'm 44, and that was 25-30 years ago, so no. Maybe if I looked through a yearbook I would recall some people, and I'm still best friends with ONE person from high school. But I don't do Facebook. I had a pretty good time in high school, but I don't really feel the need to connect with any old classmates.

We only had 180 in our class, and the vast majority of them were together from K-12, so I'd say I remember about 80% or so. Probably about 80 are on Facebook that I keep in a group.

I remember most of them pretty well and am still in touch with quite a few, 30 years out!

My graduating class has more than 700 kids and I keep in touch with very few, mainly on Facebook. I too have very fuzzy memories of high school and don't remember a lot of things and people others remember. I have some very very clear really early childhood memories, so I guess that's just how my brain stored my childhood memories. I didn't love high school and was over it by 11th grade.

135 of us (all girls, not around here) and I can remember all of them. 3 have died and 90% of us attended our 20th reunion. Best years ever.

This too shall pass.

I don't really think about any and don't keep in touch.

Not sure who you're lecturing, but I'm the poster of the "do you ever miss HS" thread a few weeks ago though did not start this one. Looks like there is more than one of us that thinks back to HS and childhood now and again. Sorry if you find that lame. For those of us whose lives are not perfect, happy or enviable -- it is only natural to look back to a past that may have been happier. Sorry if that's uncool since you've moved on to bigger and better.
