| We are in a good cluster (WJ) and are happy with it-would not change it. Diverse, not too much of a pressure cooker, the best of the W schools in my opinion. |
|
You are an insufferable asshat. You don't have a question, you just want to brag about WJ.
Signed. Everyone else (and a Churchill parent) |
| I don't think it's wrong to like the cluster you're in and also ask what others think. |
|
I would pick Quince Orchard

- Kennedy Cluster mom who will have to move by then. |
| We are headed for Rockville HS in 7 years and--gasp--I'm happy with it!!! |
How nice for you. |
| We are happy at RM but looked at QO area too. I think we could have been happy with many of the area schools. We avoided the W schools for a broader experience...not that they aren't good school. |
| We're in the Einstein cluster and are very happy. Would only consider BCC cluster for proximity to DC. Sad that my kids are growing up in the suburbs. |
+1 THIS. Exactly. RM cluster parent. |
| What is a W school? |
Some people think it means "some of the schools in Bethesda and Potomac", but that's silly. A W school is a school in the MCPS high school clusters that start with W: Watkins Mill, Wheaton, Whitman, Wootton. http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/uploadedFiles/globalContent/documents/List-Of-Schools.pdf |
| It is traditionally a nickname for the four "W"hitest schools in the county. Whittman, Wootten, Winston Churchhill and Walter Johnson...which also happen to have H's somewhere in their name. |
|
New poster here. Could you elaborate? I'm in Wootton now and would prefer RM or QO. I think of them as being similarly diverse and less pressure-cooker than Wootton. What distinguishes them for you? |
