I'm seeing schools handle PSAT in a variety of ways. Some schools pay for all juniors to take it during class hours, some include sophomores, some pay for sophomores but not for juniors (when it actually means something!), some don't pay for anyone and they take it on a Saturday morning like the SAT.
How does your district do it? |
Fairfax County: 10th Grade is paid by the county and students are generally not eligible for merit scholarships (unless they plan to graduate a year early). 11th grade is paid by the student. All take it in school and not on Saturday. |
DCPS -- free, 10th & 11th graders take PSAT and 9th graders take ReadiStep. DCPS also has free administration of SAT for juniors in February and seniors in October (same day as PSAT). http://dcps.dc.gov/DCPS/College+and+Careers/College+and+Career+Planning/PSAT+and+ReadiStep |
MoCo - 10th free, 11th pay. |
MCPS - 9th self scored practice, 10th paid, 11th you pay.
Private school - you pay in 10th and 11th. |
Independent School--free in 10th and 11th. |
Our MOCO private is free in tenth and eleventh. |
My 9th grader at Banneker (DCPS) took the PSAT. They also took another test that same week, I wonder if that was the ReadiStep. |
I think you mean, "included in the tuition". |
