Dr. Michael Donnelly at Georgetown Internal Medicine

Does anyone have any comments or suggestions re Dr. Donnelly? I was originally hoping to schedule a meet and greet with Dr. Burke, but she's expecting at right around the same time, so she won't be able to take us. It was recommended we see Dr. Donnelly, who I know has gotten some responses, just not as overwhelmingly as Dr. Burke. Also, if someone has the direct dial to his secretary, I'd appreciate it!

Congrats! When are you due? He's great. They are both medicine and pediatric docs. Rachel St. John and Maria Marquez are also wonderful pediatricians at Georgetown.

Glad to hear he's great. I'm due in June and I was a bit bummed to hear that Dr. Burke wasn't going to work out as she gets such high reviews on the board.

As big Dr. Burke fans, I am happy to hear that she is having another baby.

We have seen Dr. Donnelly a few times when she was unavailable. We really like him too. They have a little bit of a different style but he is just as great. He even came to visit my daughter while she was in the NICU.

Other than the headaches you are going to deal with because of Georgetown, you can't go wrong with Dr. Donnelly or Dr. Burke.

I highly recommend Dr. Donnelly. We use him as a Family Doctor as he is the PCP for both of my children as well as myself and husband.

I want to expand on what the headaches you are going to deal with b/c of GT means...

Parking is a challenge - a tip is to use Valet as it is the same price as self park but you need to give a tip and it might take a bit to get your car back.

Sick appts - you will be seen by a resident and then either Donnelly or Burke. So you will be seen twice which means it takes a whole lot longer.

Some other practices have drop in sick appts first thing in the AM - GT internal medicine does not. You need to call 1st thing in the AM (8:30) to get an appt for later that day. Donnelly will double book appts to get you in and then he works through lunch. It is best to go in knowing this so that if they tell you this, expect to wait.

OP here - thanks everyone. I'm delivering at GU so I have a bit of an idea as to what a pain the parking and double booking of appointments can be. But, Donnelly and Burke come so highly recommended, GU is so close to my house (literally a 10 minutes walk), that the benefits outweigh the cons. I definitely appreciate the tip about sick visits, though.

Just want to echo what everyone else has said about Dr. Donnelly. He sees our entire family and he is GREAT. The whole GT process is a bit of an ordeal but if you live only 10 minutes away it won't be that bad.
