First, find an image online. Copy the URL of the image by right clicking on the image and selecting "copy image URL".

On the DCUM thread, click the "post reply" button.

Close to the top of the reply form, below the subject line but above the main text field, there are several buttons such as bold, underline, code, list, etc. Click the "img" button (abbreviation for image)

"[img]" will show up in your message. Right next to that, without putting a space between the bracket and the next word, paste the image link you copied. Then, click the "img" button again. "[ / img ]" (without spaces, but if I remove the spaces it is interpreted as a command and doesn't show up to demonstrate what it looks like) should show up at the end of your link.

Press "preview" to make sure it worked (it should) and then hit submit when you're satisfied with your post.

Basically, your message should be written in the format:
[ img ] picture-url.picture [ / img ] (with spaces removed) and it will work

10:46/10:49 here. I'm not sure how to do that. The image button method that I know appears to only work with an image that has a URL, which pictures on your computer don't. Maybe someone else more tech savvy will chime in, or you could ask Jeff -- if this is possible he would probably be the one who would know how to do it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but I messed around with a sample pic on my computer and couldn't get it to work.

You first need to upload it to a site, like flicker etc, to give it a url.

I don't have an iPad, so I cannot test this for you, but whenever I have trouble getting something on a DCUM post to work using the correct buttons I have usually had luck doing it manually. Two ideas to try:

1. Use the same step one, copy the image URL.
In the post reply text field, instead of using the img button, type out [ img ] (paste the URL) and then type [ / img ]. Remove all spaces.
Preview the post to see if it worked.

2. (This will only work if the iPad has some sort of a word processor like notepad or something similar to microsoft word)
Use the same step one, copy the image URL.
Paste the URL into the word processor.
On DCUM, type everything out manually using the correct syntax (you pasted the URL into notepad or whatever so you could read it to type it out).
Preview to see if it worked.

Sometimes the actual buttons on here don't work but writing out what you want might still work as a bit of a brute force method since when you hit post the computer will be forced to interpret and deal with the syntax of your post. If that doesn't work I'm afraid I'm out of ideas. Hope this works for you.
