Artwork for little girl's room

Anonymous
DD is 5 and we've recently re-painted her room a light purple. I have a pair of prints of pastel crayons that are 11x14 and will go nicely on one wall, but don't have anything else to hang on her walls.

Suggestions on where you found good prints or unique art for your daughter's bedroom?

I bought a few blank canvases and some acrylic paint in the colors that were complimentary to her room and had a great day with my daughter painting them any way she wanted. She loves them and so do I!

Great idea PP. Blank canvases and personalized art work.

I got some photos off Etsy, and also we did some canvases.

The Smithsonian museums on the mall usually have prints on sale.

You could also google prints for her favorite book, e.g.,:

I'd just pick a palette that mostly works with the colors in the room.

+1 We keep a rotating assortment of DD's art in frames that let you easily switch out the pictures. A big bulletin board is a great addition too, when she is old enough that you don't have to worry about the push pins.

The antique mall in or near Evolution in VA has lots of artwork. Dig through and maybe reframe something special.

I dont know if you think this is "too young" but we got these custom name letters from a woman on Etsy for our DDs nursery and they are amazing. The woman who makes them does not do any names that are the same and they are custom and unique.

There are so many fantastic images out there. Check art.com, posters.com, IKEA, Saachis, artnet (for prints of real works of art). Your daughter will remember these images all her life.

Thank you for the ideas. For those who suggest shopping around, is it a cop out to do a print of something famous, or do you think it's better to have something unique or simply little girl-y from Etsy? I'm not great at art or decorating and welcome your thoughts.

Not a cop-out, if your DD likes it.
