Expectant and Postpartum Moms
| Does anyone have a suggestion for where to buy decent work-out maternity clothes? On-line a plus! |
|
Not to be mean, but my regular Adidas pants still fit (7.5 mo. preg) because the elastic waist band can easily be adjusted.
Aren't most workout clothes made with oodles of lycra and stretchy-material (like maternity clothes)? This was actually one part of my wardrobe that I didn't have to replace when I started showing. |
| Agreed. I got humongous during pregnancy and my gym clothes (not the bras) were the only things that still fit me. Yoga pants were the only thing that I wore for months. |
| I actually can relate - i had a horrible time finding running pants that fit me when I was pregnant, and I never got very big at all. Unfortunately, I've got no advice for you - I ended up in my normal running pants and just kept hiking them up as they fell down! |
| I bought running skirts a size up at target.com for $15.99-$19.99 each. I found the BornFit shirts in wicking material on sale on nordstrom.com for 15.99-$24.99 (ordinarily much more expensive). These are great b/c they cover my growing belly. For sports bras, I scored a major sale at lucy.com (three for a grand total of $32.) If you are willing to head to a store, go to TJ Maxx or Marshalls where you can always size up in apparel for discount prices. |
| I used my husbands shorts and t-shirts. However, if those don't work, check out old navy maternity. I did get a pair of maternity yoga pants there super cheap on clearance. And they were all I wore the last week and first week post partum! |
| at first i got some in a size up...but, when my belly was big enough, i found i could wear my old nike workout pants (the stretchy aerobic ones) below my big belly. initially (in the i feel chubby...but really i AM pregnant phase) i wore big t-shirts...when i had that belly, i started wearing tank tops (larger ones I used to layer), and then transitioned to maternity tank tops, when my non-maternity ones were too short. i got those at motherhood maternity. |
| I tried to find stuff and really couldn't find anything, other than some stretchy bike shorts with a belly panel from Old Navy, which ended up being too short to wear to the gym. I gained 50 lbs and just wore my pre-baby bike shorts and running shorts below my belly, my pre-baby sports bras and the larger t-shirts in my collection. my workout pants also fit till the end, below the belly. |
Old Navy and Motherhood both offer great workout clothes. The maternity pants have been great and really more comfortable than buying stuff a few sizes larger. Let me know if you find anything else
|
| OP here-- I should have been more specific-- regular pants and shorts will fit me until the end (at least they did last time), but I would like some decent tops. I just don't like wearing old t-shirts. I guess I can try Old Navy and Motherhood for tanks. Thanks! |
