Help a dad out with potatoes

Anonymous
As of yesterday my wife is on bed rest. Normally she is the cook of the house but now that's on me. I took the kids food shopping today and let them talk me into buying these tiny potatoes, because the girls thought they "look cute." They're the size of small marbles. How do I cook these?

Pre heat the oven to 450.

Wash, de-eye (if any) slice in half.

Coat in canola or vegetable oil.

Place cut side down on baking sheet.

Set timer for 20 minutes. Wear oven gloves and flip with spatula.

Set timer for additional 15 minutes. Test with a fork. If not ready give them 5 more minutes.

Slice in half, toss with olive oil, salt and pepper; roast on a cookie sheet in 425 degree oven for about 15 minutes. Stir at about 1/2 through.

I would just boil them in salted water (put potatoes in a pot and cover with cold water then being to a low boil). Cook until tender when pierced with a fork. Serve with butter, salt and pepper.

How old are the kids? Let them help you find a recipe and cook them. You have me buy cute potatoes, you help me cook them.

You can also roast without cutting, if you like. Wash, toss with oil, bake at 375 for 45 minutes, or until a fork goes in easily. I hope the rest of your wife's pregnancy goes well, and that you welcome a healthy little bundle soon.

I do this but add a big of garlic and rosemary before baking. The kid ds gobble them up!

Funny, I was going to say that I like them with rosemary, but DS hates rosemary, so maybe leave that out for the kids.

Anyway, OP, looks like you have roasted-marble-potatoes consensus here.

Boil, bake as stated above or bake whole like you would a baked potato.

I would lay out a large piece of foil, then add the potatoes. Add some pats of butter, salt and pepper. Maybe some rosemary. If you have the time/energy for an additional step, add onion and/or garlic.

Wrap the foil over the potatoes, and crease it to seal.

Put it on the grill.

This is cute. Good luck to you and your wife.

I add garlic, paprika, and thyme to my roasted potatoes, DC loves them.

Thanks everyone!

Managed to make them with oil, salt, pepper, and rosemary and dill. Everyone including my wife happily ate them so I consider it a success.
