I saw my wonderful dermatologist, Dr. Fuchs today. I asked for a prescription for Retin-A, as Retin-A is actually the only treatment that has been PROVEN to help with wrinkles and elasticity. I also said I wanted Tri-Luma, which is supposed to be very good for hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. Tri-Luma is also a prescription drug, but he sells it at his office. anyway, he gave my face a good look and told me that i should only use the Tri-Luma because Tri-Luma has Retin-A in it and i do not need both. i've checked the ingredients and yes, it has .5 mgs of tretonin (Retin-A). Retin-A comes in two strengths: .5 mgs. and 1 mg. i took his advice and bought the Tri-Luma, which is expensive but proven to work.
then i got home and did some internet research. most of it says that Tri-Luma is great for hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. but they said it was not a wrinkle cream. some sites did suggest what it was also a wrinkle cream, but they seemed less credible. i mean, if you do the math, dr. fuchs should be right: if Tri-Luma has .5 mgs of Retin-A in it, then i do not also need to use another .5 mgs of Retin-A.
my question: has anyone else tried Tri-Luma? what do you think about it? do you use Retin-A also?
