Infertility Support and Discussion
I'm at the end of my rope and seeking a chinese medicine doctor that specializes in fertility treatment. Does anyone know of a very good one in MD or VA?
I've been seeing Arthur Fan in Tysons. Fertility is one of his specialties, but it isn't the only thing he does. So far I like him and there are lots of recommendations for him on this board if you search his name.

I'm not sure what you mean by "specializes in fertility treatment"? If you mean uses TCM alone then you might try Stephanie Simmons. http://www.healingtr.com/html/acupuncture.html
I wanted to do acu ALONG with western medical treatment (clomid, IUI, etc.) and she made it very clear that she only wanted to treat me with TCM so we parted ways. If you are looking for an acupuncturist that works WITH western medicine, you might ask the nurses at your clinic. I know Shady Grove has a center they work with in Rockville but they may have a suggestion for closer to home. Also, when I was a patient at Columbia Fertility they had a list of providers as well. I saw a general acupuncturist during my recent IVF cycle and found the relaxation aspect of it was the most helpful - even though I could tell the guy didn't know a ton about specifically treating an IVf patient. Good luck. |
I have been very happy with Kathe Ana at Heavenly Bodies Clinic in Arlington. She specializes in fertility, and the clinic is so warm and inviting, I love going there!
Laura Berkebile at the Teal Center (www.tealcenter.com) near the Ballston mall in Arlington specializes in women's health and does a lot of work with women who are trying to conceive with and without ART/IVF/IUI. Working with her, it's easy to tell how much she enjoys helping women who are TTC.
