http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80047602/#/80047602 They are both white and one is cotton and the other linen/polyester. Why the huge difference in price - $50 x $250? Appearance wise, easy to clean, etc - is one much better than other? Trying to decide which one to get. Tia! |
| Both links are showing me the same thing |
No they are not.. the first shows you the "Stenasa white" and the second shows you "blekinge white." the first costs 250.00 and the second $50.00 (covers only). That is my point exactly - what is the difference? They look so similar? Why the huge price difference? |
| Seems like the $50 is the outlier in terms of price, vs. all the other colors which are $150 or $250. The two white versions are made of different materials, as well. I'm guessing the cheap one isn't of the same quality as the others, but who knows. |
| One is cotton and one is polyester. Both can be machine washed. I'd guess that the polyester is more tear and spill resistant. |
| They could be getting rid of the cheaper one & have lowered the price to move it. |
| Blekinge White is like a twill fabric. It's super washable but you can't really put it in the dryer. The only issue I had with it was that it has some sort of finish on it, that came off in patches the first couple washings. The finish is cream-ish. The fabric is white. |

I have Blekinge covers in white. When I get a stain, I spray bleach on it and then wash and dry. I've never had any issues with a finish coming off. It's a basic white cotton twill.
The Stenasa white is a different material AND it has pleating to keep everything looking a little more tailored (notice the pleating on the front of the sofa skirt and the sides of the cushions). |
