Leg Waxing

Anonymous
I have posted this question before - just wondering how often, those of you who wax your legs, have it done? I want my legs to be hair-free as long as possible - but waxing every 2 weeks is time consuming and expensive. Am I a freak because my hair starts growing back within 2 weeks? I am not a hairy person - it's fine blonde hair - but I expected to be smooth longer with waxing!!

You'll get a couple extra weeks if you apply some Vaniqua.

What's Vaniqua??

It is a prescription cream which, if applied right after hair removal, will slow down the regrowth of hair. Any dermatogist can prescribe. I use it when I get my brows, lip, or a brazilian wax and it does make it last almost 2x as long. So you may even save $$ in the long run. I don't put it on my legs because it would require so much I'd always be going to drug store. I think it's more for smaller areas. But if you have some special occasion that you're having your legs waxed for and you'd like it to last, you could put it on your legs and it will work there, too.

Vaniqua is for small areas. It is very expensive and usually not covered by insurance because it is cosmetic.

It's not VERY expensive. Triluma is expensive. Kinerase is expensive. If she wants to use it why judge her?

I don't think the pp was trying to judge. She was just saying she felt it was expensive, especially if applied to a large area. Not judgmental...just factual.

Maybe so. But she sounded like a big bummer. This is my beauty forum. I want to keep it supportive and upbeat.

I would recommend laser hair removal. Expensive but definitely worth every penny.

PP here. I wasn't being judgmental. Just saying that $70-100 for 30g tube is very expensive for a large area like the legs where you have to use it repeatedly for months. What do you mean this is your beauty forum? Did you start it?

Yes indeed I did. I wanted a place where women could come to support each other, feel fantastic about themselves, and get motivated.
