My DD gets to bring her class little treats on her birthday. She wants to bring in brownies. (I usually use Ghiradelli box).
The thing with brownies is that whenever I cut them, they are a mess; I can't get the little squares. I have to make quite a few, so I'd like to just make them like cupcakes, in paper cupcake cups, just not as high and all that. The boxes don't have instructions for doing it this way. Has anyone had success with that method for box brownies? Thank you in advance! |
| Just put them in mini muffin tins. Cook for shorter amount of time. |
| I would use a mini muffin tin. Put liners in tin. Adjust baking (I would check after 15 mins or so). |

For brownies to get them cut cleanly, freeze them first. Take out of the freezer and let them defrost for a few minutes and then cut them. You will be able to cut them cleanly.
Also, to get even squares/rectangles start in the middle and cut two halves, turn the pan lengthwise and cut in half. You should have 4 even rectangles. Continue halving the rectangles horizontally and vertically until you have 16 or 32. |
| Thank you PPs for the cupcake advice, and I will try the freezer advice when I next make them for the family. I learned two things; thank you Food forum! |

You can find instructions on-line for using box mix to make brownie cupcakes

| Also, if you are using a fudgeier mix, add some more eggs to make them more cakelike. |
| Bake smitten kitchens everyday chocolate cake as cupcakes. Add nuts. Frost. Heavenly. |
